WSET Level 2 Award in Wines

Our most popular course provides you with a detailed look at the best-known wines of the world, focusing on grape varieties and wine regions. During the course, you will taste 42 different wines and develop your wine tasting skills using the WSET systematic technique. A basic knowledge of wine is recommended before attending. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines course programme is as follows:

Sparkling wines
Sweet wines and fortified wines
Label terminology
The WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Wine Tasting Food and wine pairing

To gain the qualification students need to pass a multiple-choice paper of 50 questions.

The most challenging part of WSET Level 3 for me was developing and calibrating my tasting. Doing extensive tasting every lesson with Steve as a very experienced taster and examiner was invaluable as well as being the most enjoyable part of study. Steve’s guidance on the relevance of each part of the broad syllabus was also invaluable for proper revision and the face to face lessons gave me confidence in keeping my home study and revision properly focused.
